What is solar energy? How is it obtained?

This is usually done by heating or vaporizing water or another liquid. The heated liquid can be used to generate electricity by turning some kind of turbine. These systems usually focus sunlight using solar collectors or mirrors.</p> <p>Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy: Solar photovoltaic energy converts sunlight directly into electrical energy through solar panels. Photovoltaic cells are usually made of semiconductor materials such as silicon, and when exposed to sunlight, they generate electric current. This electricity can be used in homes, businesses or remote areas that are not connected to the grid.</p> <p>The process of obtaining solar energy involves the following steps:</p> <p>Capturing Sunlight: Solar panels or solar collectors capture light from the Sun and convert it into energy. Photovoltaic cells convert sunlight directly into electrical energy.</p> <p>Electrical Energy Conversion: When photovoltaic cells receive sunlight, it moves electrons inside them, which creates an electric current. This current is called a direct current (DC).</p> <p>Converting to Alternating Current with an Inverter: Generally, electrical systems used in homes and workplaces use alternating current (AC). Therefore, the direct current from solar panels is converted into alternating current using an inverter.</p> <p>Use or Storage of Electrical Energy: The resulting electrical energy can be used to meet the energy needs of a home or business, or it can be stored through energy storage systems.</p> <p>In addition to being a clean and sustainable energy source, solar energy is also notable for being usable in a variety of applications. Solar panels are used in many areas such as homes, workplaces, farms, space exploration and vehicles.</p>
